If you live on the west coast you will totally get it when I say, "Where is the lovely spring weather?"  With LA getting as much rain as Seattle these days, summer is majorly on my mind. Our next South Asian wedding has a crafty, summery, tiffany blue and tangerine color palette that is definitely taking some of these stormy California blues away. Aman Mohammed was the man behind the camera and responsible for capturing all the lovely details that were the handiwork of Exquistive Events.

There are some totally adorable, steal worthy ideas for your Indian wedding in this feature.  I absolutely love these fans on the each of the guest’s ceremony seats.  They add an unexpected pop of décor, and are a festive little gadget for guests to cool down with.  Another idea I love from this wedding is the decorative guest card table.  Colorful rose petals elegantly divide name cards, so your guests can quickly find their seat. And the floral arrangement isn’t so shabby either.  This type of look can be effectively replicated in numerous color palettes, and by adoring the flowers with tea leaves, you get more bang for your buck. Everyone loves that.

So, here is an idea that is an absolute “must-do.”  Adding fabric to the ceiling is a relatively inexpensive way to get a ton of color into your venue and transform your room. Paired with some graphic lighting there will be almost no need for florals.

And, definitely have fun with it.  These lanterns add ambiance and ethnic style giving your mehndi that festive punch.

I have been waiting all year for today because it is the opening day of Sex and the City 2! Finally the ladies are back and taking it to a whole notha level of glitz, glam, and gossip.  I feel like it is Christmas and my birthday all rolled into one.  In order to pay homage to our favorite foursome, and have a little fun around the office today we are using Carrie, Sam, Charlotte, and Miranda as our inspiration today.  Each of the ladies has a unique style and presence, so we have come up with a fabulous Indian wedding inspiration board based on each of them. Filled with creative ideas and fun new colors, we think that you will agree that next time instead of traveling to Abu Dhabi, the fab 4 should head to Mumbai instead!

First up our traditional Indian wedding inspiration board for our queen of tradition, Charlotte:

Since every good Sex and the City-aholic knows that Samantha would never get married, we couldn’t come up with one for her.  But, if she did have a reception for herself, we think that there would be lots of golds, white, and a vixenish splash of red.

If you don’t have your ticket yet, go online and grab a seat.  We are having a mini company holiday at Maharani HQ and blowing outta here for the 415pm show.  Enjoy the movie everyone…I know that we will!

When our Platinum Guide vendors pair up to do a wedding, it is always a hit.  The creativity and the passion that Working Brides and Beyond Imaginations brought to this unique Indian fusion wedding, is what truly sets them apart in the DC area.  Filled with charming ideas and adorable touches, this wedding shows that you don’t always have to have a sky-is-the-limit budget to have a memorable celebration.

Here is an adorable idea for your Indian wedding : A Family Tree. Spend an afternoon going through your family pictures, as well as your fiancée’s, and make sure that you sit down with a family member.  Going through the photographs and hearing the unique stories will be something you cherish long after your wedding day.

From Beyond Imaginations : We created a family tree with a gold Manzanita Branch decorated with purple, blue and green flowers and pictures of family members of the couples. The highlight of this centerpiece was a peacock woven with Flax Leaves, decorated with peacock feathers and Swarovski Crystals. The reception was majestic, regal and exotic. The vibrant colors of the peacock feathers were introduced at the reception. Bold and intricate purple Dendrobium Orchids, Lisianthus, blue Delphiniums and Green Cymbidium Orchids creatively arranged on amber glass cones hanging from gold trees. Peacock feathers were artistically framed and designed as the pedestals with similar flowers on top. Acolytes were placed in the pedestals to bestow luminous effect on the peacock feathers.
