Featured Fusion Wedding : Meera & Chad

Today’s featured wedding is a delicate blend of Hindu and Buddhist, Indian and Sri Lankan, and traditional and modern.  It is really a fusion wedding from all angles, and you will see exactly what I mean as the day unfolds.  This take your breath away ceremony started at the amazing Swaminarayan temple, in Toronto, Canada.

From Sangeeta, of Kumari Photography :

A unique blend of Indian Hindu and Sri Lankan Buddhist traditions, Chad & Meera’s wedding was a delight to our photographic senses. They first sealed their commitment through the sacrificial fires at the Swaminaryana Temple. Then escorted by exotic Sri Lankan dancers, they arrived at the Buddist altar to humbly offer sacred leaves to the earth and their family signifying their union and asking for blessings to be bestowed by the community elders.

Much more on the way....be right back!

Featured Fusion Wedding : Meera & Chad II

If you are a fusion bride looking for inspiration on how to do it, you are in for a real treat today. Photographed by the lovely Sangeeta Kumar, of Kumari Photography, this Buddist/Hindu wedding brings two cultures together effortlessly, without sacrificing anything traditional. There is nothing like Sangeeta’s keen photographic eye is able to get that perfect shot and just the right moment.   Seriously people, this wedding has left me weak in the knees!

So, it is time for my favorite game – veil or no veil?!

Well, you know my answer!  Sit tight….be right back!

Featured Fusion Wedding : Meera & Chad Finale!

So, my favorite kind of Indian weddings are Indian weddings that push the envelope.  Something new and something we haven’t seen before really tells me that the bride has edge, and is definitely a girl I would want to be friends with!  I was completely tickled when Sangeeta, of Kumari Photography, shared this “Trash the Lengha” shoot with me.  Innovative and totally creative…something I know that will be reproduced again and again!

From Sangeeta, of Kumari Photography :

Chad and Meera love to have fun, so when they decided to do a "Trash the Lengha" shoot...it was music to our creative ears! On every shoot we like to push our limits…not everyone is up for our adventurous ideas but more often than not we work with couples whose adventure levels match ours. Not only are they a a beautiful couple and super fun to hang out with, but they are always up for having some fun. So when we proposed the idea of a water shoot, Meera was a bit hesitant, but with a few winks and a wiggle of our noses she was convinced…I mean she agreed to get wet and cold and dirty for her photos! She's just our kind of bride -trudging the dirty alley ways of Toronto and landing into the water with such grace and elegance!

Good night Maharanis and we will see you all tomorrow with some Film-y Friday fun!
