We are back with second part of Anita and Amar’s wedding celebration. What I love about this wedding is that the bride (and maybe groom?!) took a lot of time to think about how they would combine Indian traditions with a modern twist to represent them as a couple.  Make sure you read this description of the baraat from Anita.

From the bride : My parents actually live in Amish country right now so when Amar and I first got engaged I wanted him to come in on an Amish style buggy with two white horses.  Our friends down in Amish country brought the horses and buggy up to Cleveland, which is an hour and half drive on the day of our wedding.  The boy actually driving the buggy is our family friend who is Amish.  His family then made sure to stay and celebrate the night with us and they had a great time.

The wedding festivities took place at LaCentre Conference and Banquet Facility, in Westlake, Ohio.  LaCentre is experienced with Indian weddings, and their staff is familiar with Indian customs.  Always a bonus so your day goes off without a hitch! Anita loved this venue so much she had her rehearsal dinner and her bridal shower there.

I particularly love these candid shots that Genevieve shot in the mandap.  It makes you feel like you are right there.

Today we have a very special featured Indian wedding from Ohio, which holds a special place in my heart since my husband is an Ohio native.  Anita and Amar's were wed earlier this summer, and Genevieve Nisly and her creative eye were on hand to make sure that each and every moment was captured, well perfectly.

I love the rich, deep color of Anita’s mehndi.  Anita used Viraj Parich for her bridal mehndi.

From the bride : My family is Punjabi and Amar's family is Maharashtran.  We both have families who love to have a good time and celebrate.  We also have a lot of friends who had never experienced an Indian wedding before.  We really wanted to put together a reception which was enjoyed by everyone and where our friends could really experience a great Indian wedding.   All of our friends loved everything from the food to the music. In fact, I even had one guy friend who said that I needed to find him an Indian girl just so he could have an Indian wedding one day - I take that as a compliment!

I am always filled with anticipation Dina Douglass tells me she is shooting yet another Indian wedding, because I know that photos will delight our readers.  True to form, she shot the wonderful reception of Jasmeen and Sunny and the pictures did not disappoint.

The couple was married at the Buena Park Gurdwara, and their reception was at the Long Beach Westin.  I just had to show you a picture of Jasmeen’s glittering bridal lengha.

I am in LOVE with this color combo of turquoise and purple. The purple acts as the base for the color palette and the turquoise as the accent color resulting in a royal yet familiar feel that is dynamite.  Check out this imperial stage they dined at for the first time as Mr. & Mrs.  The flowers and décor were done by Flowers By Manjit.

The bride’s dramatic makeup was done by the great Oscar of Ziba Beauty

Hope everyone had a nice weekend.  There are only a few hours left to submit your ULTIMATE bridal ensemble inspiration board for our September contest.  We received some fantastic boards over the weekend, so I am excited to share them!

So, you know the only thing that I love as much as weddings, is jewelry.  Necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and especially sets – I love it all.  Tejani just released their new bridesmaid collection that is so versatile, it will be shown off & cherished for years to come.
